Rule of Law redefined

Well before the 2024 election, some observers thought Big Media, notably the New York Times and Washington Post, were actually trying to get Donald Trump elected. I went so far as to cancel both subscriptions, and a couple months later renewed because I thought it valuable to know what was happening

But Jeff Bezos has officially proclaimed the WaPo as a cheerleader for Trumpism — the NYT, not so officially, but as effectively.

In half our country’s houses, MSNBC holds a position slightly higher than a religious household holds its version of God. In the other, a woman with similar fervor told me a few years ago, “if you want the truth, watch Fox News.”

No criticism is tolerated on either side.

Now We the People have, through our Supreme Court, declared vandalism to be terrorism and rendition to be the remedy. Our news hides the faces of what the NRA used to call “jack-booted thugs” as they “detain” without charge protesters against perceived injustice.

We have, through a mixture of proclamation and acquiescence, declared our fealty to a dictator who defines as losers those who sacrificed their lives and families to protect and preserve the way of life his signature is eagerly destroying.

The brain runs best on dark roast!
